Why Radix?

Radix is inspired by the idea of radical liberation and justice. I center my service around centering marginalized identities and accepting whoever is open to sharing their journey with me. Entering the birth space with intention of radical joy, agency, and empowerment is what drives and motivates me as a birth worker. With these values in mind, I seek to offer care that embodies an environment of acceptance, affirmation, and protection from hate.

ra・dix    (ˈrā-diks)

In Mathematics, radix means the base of a number system or logarithms, and it's original latin derivation is the root or primary source of something.

Bringing a new life into the world isn't possible without the root or primary sources (in this case, the birthers!). As they are at the root of the birthing world I want birthers to feel rad, radiant, and centered throughout their experience. So I felt radix was the perfect name (in my brainy, nerdy, mathlete mind)!
